Fundamentally there is hope. There is space for vision, space where vision could be worked through and distributed. Looking back and looking to the future are equally necessary in practicing the bodhisattva’s way, the way of compassion, in day-to-day living. We don’t have to shy away from what is happening, and, at the same time, we don’t have to exaggerate it either. We could just accept the given situation and work with it directly and simply as it happens.
