I went to the Taipei prison to talk to inmates about Seeing Sacred. I showed them photos and told them stories from my travels along the silk roads, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Tibet and of course Bhutan. I told them stories that had reminded me of love, compassion, family values,etc... and how these qualities are universal, irrespective of nationality, caste or spiritual beliefs. They were so attentive and receptive, and asked thoughtful questions. The session was went on for 1:30 hrs!

I also heard a heart breaking story of a talented inmate who had been imprisoned for years, he had been looking forward to be released and get back with his family. Unfortunately upon release he realized that his family had disowned him. Falling into depression, he committed suicide. So unfortunate. There's not only so much we can share with them but so much we can learn from them.
