遇見康卓慈琳確諄

I first met esteemed Khandro Tsering Chödrön while Dungsey Thinley Norbu Rinpoche was visiting our home in Boudhanath. When she came to see Rinpoche, he motioned me to his side and whispered, “There is a great dakini in the house–she has just walked into the sitting room. You can offer a katak and make three full prostrations at her feet. She is the khandro of the great Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö. When you see her face, you see the face of a true dakini.” Rinpoche's words echoed in my mind each time I saw Khandro Tsering thereafter.

第一次遇見尊貴的康卓慈琳確諄，是董瑟聽列諾布仁波切在我博達那家中作客的時候。當時，康卓來見仁波切，而他（仁波切）把我叫到身邊並耳語到：「這間屋裡有位偉大的空行母，她剛走進起居室。妳可以供養哈達並在她足前行三個大禮拜，她是偉大蔣揚欽哲確吉羅卓的佛母。望著她的臉，就看見了一位真實空行母的面容。」此後，每當我見到康卓慈琳確諄時，仁波切的話語就迴盪在我心底。

Two decades later, Penzom Lama and I traveled to Sikkim to seek teachings from Khandro for this book. She lives quietly in a temple set on the expansive grounds of the Sikkimese Royal Palace. We walked to the deep crimson door of the temple, slid off our shoes and tiptoed into the entry hall to find her attendant. He guided us to the dimly lit shrine room where Khandro Tsering stood, her serene radiance illuminating the shadows. Seeing her was like being embraced by a divine love, her presence the breathing essence of faith.

二十年後，班宗喇嘛和我為了此書，前往錫金向康卓請求教授。她靜居在錫金皇宮廣闊土地上的一座寺院裡。我們走向絳紅色的寺院大門，脫去鞋子，踮著腳走進大廳去找她的侍者。他引導我們進到光線昏暗的佛堂裡，康卓慈琳佛母佇立其中，而她寧靜的光芒照亮了陰暗處。看著她，就如同受到神聖之愛所攝持，而她本身，即是虔信的真實本質。

She gestured to us, and with gentle Tibetan words asked us to sit and take tea. We would speak and then the conversation would change naturally to silent meditation as we sat in front of the reliquary of her guru, Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö. Eventually I made my request for a teaching. Khandro replied that she didn't teach but that we could include her picture here along with the words of Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö.

她溫和地說著藏語，示意我們坐下來喝茶。我們坐在她的上師蔣揚欽哲確吉羅卓的舍利塔前，有時交談，有時則自然而然地轉為靜默的禪修。最終，我懇請康卓給予教授，康卓答說她不教授，但同意我們可將她的照片與蔣揚欽哲確吉羅卓的教言納入此書。

It was not easy for me to leave that day. Being in such a holy atmosphere was indescribably moving, and I wanted to stay there forever. As we walked out, my heart felt washed of pain and full of love. May these photos bring Khandro Tsering's presence here, and may the advice of Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö release the hearts of all who read his sacred words.

那天對我來說，要離開並不容易，身處在如此神聖的氛圍中，有著難以言喻的感動，我真想要永遠留下來。走出來時，我覺得心中痛苦滌淨、慈愛滿盈。祈願這些照片能讓康卓慈琳於此示現，並祈願所有讀到蔣揚欽哲確吉羅卓之神聖教言的人，其心皆可因而解脫。
