吉美欽哲仁波切:隨時都要清楚自己修行的原因,如此便不會因為困難或煩惱出現而膽戰心驚

 

一旦醒來,就必須保持清醒。若要做到這一點,就必須禪修。我等有情眾生長久以來都在冬眠,而且時間長到不知要如何保持清醒。若想保持清醒,則需不斷喚醒。設想你用的鬧鐘有貪睡按鈕,只不過這貪睡按鈕不是讓我們睡回籠覺,而是不斷提醒我們要禪修並保持清醒。

 

此外,我們必須隨時都要清楚自己修行的原因。如此,當修道上出現困難且煩惱因而生起時,我們便不會膽戰心驚。如果自心所受的訓練無懈可擊,就沒必要以我們對圓滿的寄望來阻礙自己的學處。

 

乃至有虛空,

以及眾生住,

願吾住世間,

盡除眾生苦!

 

When we wake up, we need to stay awake. To do so, we need to meditate. We sentient beings have been hibernating for a very long time - so long that we don't know how to keep ourselves awake. Keeping awake requires repetitive rousing. Imagine you are using an alarm clock with a snooze button, but here the snooze button isn't a permission to go back to sleep; it's a repeated reminder to meditate and stay awake.

 

There is one more point I would like to make: we need to maintain perspective on why we are practicing, so that we are not shocked when our emotions arise in response to difficulties on the path. If our minds were already flawlessly trained, we wouldn't need to let our expectations of perfection obstruct our training.

 

As long as space endures,

As long as there are beings to be found,

May I continue likewise to remain

To drive away the sorrows of the world.
