吉噶康楚仁波切：藉由擴展自身而成為普世之我，你便將「自我」消融了
充滿傲慢或期望他人看到的利他主義，並非以佛法浸潤的菩提心。要幫助別人，不必是佛教徒。這個國家其實不是由政府在運作，而是那些想要做好事務的不同工作者，儘管他們確實為了工資，但同時也是為了別人而做好事務。這些人和菩薩的差別在於，後者是屬於全人類的，而非自我。以關懷和慈愛將自身擴及他人、撫慰其苦。千萬不要認為在這過程中，你會被拋諸於後，因為，藉由擴展自身而成為普世之我，你便將「自我」消融了。
Altruism infused with pride or the expectation of recognition is not bodhicitta, which is soaked in dharma. People don’t have to be in the dharma to help others. This country is not really run by government but by people in their various jobs who want to do good - yes, for a wage - but to do good for others. The difference between these people and the bodhisattva is that the latter belongs to humanity, not to self. With care and love, you extend yourself to others to soothe their suffering. Don’t ever think you’ve been left behind in the process because by extending to universal self, you’ve dissolved your “self.”
